2026 MOWSC Details and Expectations

Hello Team!

Conference Championship Weekend is almost here! We are excited to wrap up another great season with our swimmers. Some of this information is also in the Volunteer Email, but we wanted to make sure everyone has the information they need!

Scroll all the way to the end of this email for attachments.

*If lightning or thunder is heard, by state law the entire pool deck must be cleared for 30 minutes* Please use your best judgement regarding getting to your car, and consider bringing rain gear! The clubhouse can't hold all the spectators, and will not be an option if the deck is cleared. Strong winds could also cause delays. We will swim in the rain though!

Download the Group Me app and join the Keene Trace Ducks Group Me. This will greatly help our communication of important things, such as weather delays, shift modifications, etc.KTST Group Me Link - Click Here. This will be our primary method of communicating during conference!

Conference is a long meet, so several methods are used to help it run faster:

They will be using touchpads in the deep end (kids need to touch underwater, touch hard, etc).

Flyover starts for 11 and older - We did this at the meet at Pinnacle and at our meet last night, so swimmers should be familiar with this

We are in Tent Spot 1. It will be the tent across from the door into the clubhouse, near the Volunteer Table, closest to the drop-off area. There is room for a few pop-up tents in the grass around us, but we do have a tall hedge on one side of our tent.

We still need volunteers to decorate the tent for Conference! This will happen on Friday evening.  Look out for information in the GroupMe about timing!

Please make sure your swimmers and little siblings keep the decorations looking nice for the Saturday PM session - the older swimmers also enjoy the decorations! And the parents decorating will put in a lot of time and effort to make it special, so let's respect that!

Location

Pinnacle Pool

621 Southpoint Dr. Lexington 40515

*Please be mindful of where you park, as always. Some of the nearest streets will be marked off for MOWSC parking. Be prepared to walk a greater distance to the pool from your parking spot than usual, as this meet has all 9 teams from conference! There is a drop off location (close to our tent) for you to drop swimmers and heavy items.

Meet Entries & Heat Sheets

Coach Trent has sent out the meet entries to let you know which events your swimmer is swimming.

Heat sheets will be available for purchase:

-$15 cash per day

-$17 via Venmo per day

Sunday’s heat sheet will also be available on Meet Mobile if you prefer using the app.

Team Tent

We will have a Keene Trace Ducks team tent set up in Slot 1 (See attached map for its location.) There will be very limited space for families to bring their own tents to set up nearby. For the Saturday morning 10 & Under session, space will be especially limited due to the larger number of swimmers.

If you set up a personal pop-up tent, Pinnacle has asked that you wait until Friday after 3pm. You are welcome to leave chairs under the tent early, but be aware that Pinnacle does not have security and it is a high foot-traffic area.

Conference Rules & Reminders

Please review these important meet rules:

  • We will have Conference swim caps available at the team tent for each swimmer. No Club swim caps are allowed (HA, BYB, etc) - some swimmers received their caps this morning at practice - they are gold, and we plan to wear those this weekend!
  • No tech suits for 12 & Under swimmers
  • No long body suits
  • No tie back suits
  • No body paint or spray hair color
  • No deck changing
  • There will be no video review -  this is consistent with USA Swimming
  • Tent parents are responsible for getting swimmers to the Clerk of Course. Missed events will not be made up. Please make sure your swimmer is in the tent and ready to go.

Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate!

It is not supposed to be as hot as our past few swim meets, but it is summer! Please bring water, sports drinks, fresh fruit or whatever else your swimmer needs to stay hydrated.

We are looking forward to an exciting weekend of great sportsmanship, fast swims, and celebrating all that our Ducks have accomplished this season! Thank you for all your support, volunteering, and encouragement throughout the summer.

Go Ducks!! 🦆
