Mid-Season Swim Team Update
Dear Keene Trace Swim Team Families,
We hope everyone is having a wonderful swim season! As we reach the midpoint of the summer, we wanted to share a few important updates and reminders.
1. Simplified Practice Schedule
To help eliminate any confusion, we have simplified the practice schedule below. Our original schedule included some overlap to allow for stretching and transition time between groups.
The times listed below are the times swimmers should be in the water.
Please plan to arrive 5–10 minutes before your swimmer’s start time to allow time for wrapping up any pre-practice activities and completing stretches.
Practice Schedule (In-Water Times)
- 11 & Up: 8:00–8:45 AM
- Group A: 8:45–9:20 AM
- Group B: 9:20–9:50 AM
- Group C: 9:50–10:20 AM
- Mini Ducks: 10:20–10:45 AM
- Ducklings: 10:45–11:05 AM
2. Coaching Assignments
We also wanted to clarify which coaches are working with each group.
Our Head and Assistant Coaches support all practice groups throughout the morning:
- Head Coach Caroline L.
- Head Coach Trent
- Assistant Coach Jackson
- Assistant Coach Joshua
- Assistant Coach Lily
Our swimmer coaches begin coaching during Group A through Ducklings (8:45–11:05 AM) and provide additional support during those practice sessions.
3. Helping Coaches Focus During Practice
As we move through the season, we kindly ask you to remind swimmers who are not in the water, as well as younger siblings, that they cannot distract the coaches or try to play with them during instructional time.
Our coaches truly enjoy all of the children on the pool deck, but their primary responsibility during practice is coaching the swimmers in the water. If you notice your child attempting to play with a coach during practice time, please gently redirect them and encourage them to respect the coaches’ attention and responsibilities.
By minimizing distractions, we can maximize the coaches’ expertise and ensure every swimmer receives the best instruction possible.
Thank you for your continued support and for helping make our swim team a positive experience for all swimmers. We appreciate each of you and look forward to a great second half of the season!
Go Ducks! 🦆
Terri
