Hello Team!

As you enjoy your one free Wednesday evening during the swim season tomorrow, I wanted to let you know we are already starting to plan for the MOWSC Championship Meet (aka "Conference") July 11-12 at Pinnacle! 

A few important things about Conference you need to note:

Volunteering:

If your child is going to swim in the Conference Championship meet, you will be required to volunteer during that meet. Many of the volunteer spots are the same as our swim meets, with a few additional roles that are specific to the way Conference runs. 

This is in addition to the required two volunteer spots during the regular season. Only parents of kids swimming in Conference will be signed up to volunteer. 

As with the regular season, you may pay a babysitter to work your shift, but you are responsible for them showing up and doing the work. Please reach out to me if this is the only thing holding you back from signing your swimmers up for Conference!

Eligibility 

Your child must have two legal "seed times" for the events in which they desire to swim at Conference. For example, if your swimmer wants to compete in butterfly at Conference, but has been DQ'd one of the two times they swam it during the regular season, they won't be able to be seeded at Conference and can't be entered. More on that later, but be thinking about that and talking to your swimmers about it as we go into the last half of our season! 

Conference sign-ups are officially OPEN in SwimTopia - same as our regular swim meets. Please go ahead and sign up early (that helps us with numbers) and sign up even if you aren't sure you're going to make it - we can always scratch swimmers Thursday night before Conference (7/9) but it's much more difficult to enter swimmers after the deadline has passed (June 26th).

If you sign your swimmer up for Conference, you will be included on the volunteer list, so if you are hesitant to commit due to other external factors, please email us to let us know your situation. 

 "Spirit Crew" 

Are there any parents out there who would be willing to be part of the Conference "Spirit Crew?" Kelsey Snyder and Megan Kinsolving have been excellent at coordinating the tent decorating/spirit details and I can forward your information to them if interested!

We will have a big tent assigned to us at Pinnacle that we can decorate (usually the Friday before, July 10). The Conference theme is "Off to the Races" (think Derby, Keeneland, etc). Once we have a map and know which tent will be ours, we can figure out if there is room for additional pop-up tents, etc.
